There is always a mission in our message

I’ve heard it said many times that God takes our mess, and turns it into our mission. I believe that.  I also believe that He takes our mission, and gives us a message of hope that people can relate to. For the past 6 years, after completely healing from Rheumatoid Arthritis, I have been on a mission to inspire healthy living around the world.  I went back to school to educate myself on why my body healed from something my doctor told me was incurable.  Combined with the education I received, the holistic doctors, naturopath and nutritionist I saw, they all basically said they same thing…eat more plants!  I have learned that “food is thy medicine and medicine thy food.”

Shortly after receiving my health coach certification six years ago,  I began teaching science-based nutrition workshops. I taught at Del Webb, a beautiful active adult retirement community. I also taught at churches and for 2 years was employed by Next Level Health and Wellness.  Through them I taught monthly wellness workshops and hands-on cooking classes to Fort Bend County Employees. The joy of educating others is nothing short of a miracle!  Never in my wildest dreams did I think that my auto-immune disease would lead to something so wonderful and fulfilling.  I believe I am changing lives everyday.

Throughout my journey, I’ve posted on Instagram and Face Book (Brown Girl Gone Green Group & Business Pages) the many recipes that I’ve made. My physical transformation of losing 40 pounds, my posts and sharing my story of healing lead to many people asking me for help in the kitchen. This enabled me to create another amazing part of my business that includes one-on-one kitchen coaching, group cooking parties and kids in-home cooking lessons. I have even been a chef for a retreat!

I have helped hundreds of people to conquer their fears of switching to a more plant-based diet, all while educating them on the importance of maintaining a diet that has been proven to prevent and reverse disease. Because of my personal story of healing, my mission will always be to inspire healthy living around the world, and to give the message of hope to those who need it.

    I am excited to follow you! We both have teenage sons. Mine is plant based and I would love to know how do you keep your crew feed! N. tends to be hungry all the time. He is also interested in weight gain (BIG muscles!) and I am the exact opposite. I would like to lose weight. I would love to hear how to balance both in meal planning.

      Hey Leah, Thanks for following me! I completely understand you challenge. Beans, Greens and Grains are my top fillers, especially at dinner. GBOMB is an acronym I try to remember when thinking “complete protein”…Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries, Seeds and Nuts. I also incorporate organic tofu, jackfruit, and tempeh into dishes. As far as weight management I have a program I call 10 Days of Intentional Living, which incorporates the L.E.A.N. Principles, which stand for , Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude, Nutrition. Let me know when you’d like to start.
